Halloween

I have a lovely friend Kristin who is from the States and making a big effort for Halloween, we're going to tag along and while she sits drinking wine handing out "candy", I'm going to trudge up and down the street with my boys - I'll be pushing Smith in his stroller eating a lollipop while carrying the hat he'll refuse to wear. The boys will sheepishly stand at peoples gates too scared to go in, then I'll go in, (yes, no doubt leaving Smith at the gate), I'll then hiss at the boys to come with me, then yell at Will to go back and get Smith, then the boys will finally get their "loot" - bad lollies from a discount shop circa 1997. I'll clench my teeth and repeat the process over at each house. My dilemma is bag size - Kristin has got halloween bags (!!!) so she's sorted but do I use - the old party loot bags that would hold only a lollipop and a gum snake (and have someone elses name on them who didn't turn up to the party), or do I use a large plastic shopping bag? And yes, they're my only options other than the Santa sacks (ie pillowcases) and then i have no idea where they are?

Toys

Rafe and I have spent our afternoon looking for one particular toy so have trudged happily through all those toy boxes, Rafe playing, me tidying. But now I want to keep the toys all neatly sorted and tidied out of sight ie off limits/don't touch. Is this wrong? I think i can answer this one myself?

Flies

How is it that I have just prepared 3 meals for my 3 children? And will I spend more time on this blog thingy than the actual business? Hot here in Sydney today and we are currently experiencing a boom in flies - I thought flies only lived in the outback and that I had no need of a hat with corks on it in the city. My very clever friend Kate though that maybe I should design a hat with crystals or other such pretties decorating it. I hmmmed very unenthusiastically, barely containing my excitement at this FABULOUS business opportunity - gad why bother with a nonprofit feel good business idea when I could solve the fly problem and look styley doing it. I had booty camp on the beach yesterday - with four other girls and only a zillion flies accompanying us - I could only mumble coz I was too worried about how many flies I'd eat if I opened my mouth. And how could my baby (ok he's 21 months but he'll always be my baby), have so proficiently perfected the fly swatting technique. Flies - apparently they'll get "better" in a few weeks - October - The Month of the Fly.



Righto, crazy hour and a half is upon me - better go and do mum stuff

Wow, how do I do this?

Bad start. Too many decisions to make. I choose a name like a race horse for my signature (see I don't even know what its called) and then another race horse for my blog name. I'll take things slowly from here as I am the most UNsavvy computer user EVER - I still use film for my camera!. So who am I and what's the point of this? A couple of things - I live in Sydney, Australia having just shifted from New Zealand with The Husband's fabulous new job. We have 3 little fellas, and in an attempt of stopping me going completely mad, I've decided to start a non-profit business - web based and all about giving back and ticking an emotional fulfillment box. So this blog is all about me starting up my business as well as a glimpse of my life and my experiences in shifting to a new country, making friends and generally just trying to feel as good and happy as possible.... interested? I might post some more entries to "catch-up" a bit. Any advice from experienced bloggers always welcomed!
