Be Careful What You Wish For

I've always wanted glasses.  I'm one of those people who contemplated for a moment, getting fakes, so I could wear frames.  I'm the kind of person who thought that glasses suited me, that was until I found out I needed them.  I don't want glasses now.  I only need them because I am getting older - thanks optometrist lady, well haven't you made me feel good about myself .  They are in fact a big fat old pain in the butt.  Firstly, I actually don't look good in glasses, my eldest was like "Mum, can't you get contacts or something - you just don't suit them".  Nice.  Secondly, I need them not for some cute reason, but because I'm getting old, what next? hearing aid (actually I do play my iPod a little loud), zimmer frame, incontinence pants (hmm, after 3 kids maybe that will be a reality sooner than I think).
Luckily for me I'm in a health fund that has a nice relationship with a glasses shop in the mall that had a two for one special on.  And luckily for me, I had a keen model to show you my new specs (total price $50 - I could have thought of other more fun things to spend $50 on).

Like I say, be careful what you wish for.

  1. Love your glasses, awesome for $50.00. Did they help you choose frames that suit your face shape?
