The Time is Now.

As you read this, I'm probably in New Zealand, or close to.  On Saturday I will be lining up to start the Motatapu Off Road Marathon.  I can't wait!

I had my last training run ( a teeny one) yesterday, I listened to beautiful music on my Ipod, not my normal loud thrashy stuff.  I wanted to run and run and run.  I wanted to fling my arms back and say "I am ready".
I don't know how I will go on the day.  I may not finish but I'm going to, I may run badly but I if I do that's ok, I may freak out a little but I will calm myself down.  And I will enjoy it.  I will enjoy the scenery.  I will enjoy the NZ air.  I will enjoy the comraderie.  I will enjoy being with my oldest friend even if we're not together.  I will enjoy the journey that I've taken to get here.

Thank you to everyone.  My Sydney team - my gorgeous friends who ask with interest about my runs.  My New Zealand team - my dearest friend Katie and her amazing ultra marathon running husband Alan who has given so many wise words, my lovely friend Laurel who is meeting me at the airport unexpectedly (now that brought a big lump to my throat), my girls who are meeting for an impromptu, quick catchup while I'm in NZ.
And to my boys.  My husband, my boys who have tolerated my absences and my obsession.  I will miss them but will carry their names on my arm so I can remind myself to keep moving when I don't want to. For them, for everyone.  For me.
